Okay, so people might not have LOVED The Tourist, but Johnny Depp loved filming in Venice SO much that he decided to get a place there.

Depp has dropped £8.58 million for the 17th century Palazzo Dona Sangiantoffetti in Venice.

A local newspaper in Venice, La Nuova Venezia, reported that Depp outbid an Arab prince for the building that overlooks the Grand Canal.

Looks like Johnny will be using the palazzo as a holiday home for himself and his family.

Here’s what he’s said about his love of Venice:

“My experience of Venice really happened between 10pm and 2am when the streets closed and I was able to walk around and experience the poetry of Venice, the ghosts of Venice, all those wonderful dark alleys.”

“For an actor being able to film within the confines of that magical city certainly helps… The city’s magic shone through completely.”

Sounds wonderful, Mr. Depp! Let us know when we can stop by and visit, please. LOLz.

Last March, we learned that a remake of the 80′s cult flick The Monster Squad was in the works, and we were NOT excited.

As we said back then, we like the original as it is, but Platinum Dunes likes to ruin remake classic horror films, so it looks like a new Monster Squad is still happening for better or for worse.

Here’s what producer Brad Fuller had to say about the project:

“Since a few people asked, ‘Monster Squad’ is being written and he hope to have a script in the next few weeks.”

The remake will be directed by Stealth’s Rob Cohen, and it’s being penned by Bring It on Again writers Mark and Brian Gunn.

Come on, Platinum Dunes! Let’s leave this cult classic alone. There’s gotta be another Friday the 13th script in your library that you guys can get going on.

According to the numbers, Saturday Night Live’s telecast this weekend with host Jesse Eisenberg and musical guest Nicki Minaj tied for 2nd highest 18-49 rating of the season.

Pulling in a 3.2 rating, the show tied with this season’s premiere and trails only Jim Carrey’s episode that aired earlier this month.

Amazing! Nicki killed it, so we’re glad to hear people were tuning in for that! (In case you missed it, check her Minajesty out above!)

On Friday morning, Tony Parker’s lawyer made everything legal and officially ended things between Tony and Eva Longoria.

Tony’s lawyer filed the legal papers that dissolved the couple’s marriage in Texas just as Eva’s lawyer quietly had Eva’s original divorce petition in L.A. dismissed. Sources close to the split say the couple decided to make everything legal in Texas as that was where they signed the prenup.

We’re hearing the end came amicably and without any conflict.

Sad, but inevitable. Time to move on.

Really??? Since when???

Sources are reporting that Lauren Conrad is secretly engaged to longtime BF Kyle Howard. No word yet on how long ago he put a ring on it, but we hear Lauren refuses to wear said ring out in public.

But why so hush-hush? What’s the point of keeping it a secret?

One word: Ratings! (What else?)

Yeah, remember back now. She’s getting another show on MTV soon that’s supposed to be focusing more on her career than her love life. According to one source, Lauren “wants to hold the secret back for her new MTV show.”

So much for that! You should know by now, bb, there’s no such thing as a secret in this town!
